Full Backup with a Bootcamp Partition

Thread needs solution

Hello.

Does the new product allow a COMPLETE backup/image for the whole drive which includes the Apple partition of Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and a Bootcamp Partition of Windows NTFS?

To wit, does the product IMAGE the whole SSD drive and if so, will I be able to restore the whole drive with both partitions intact and both partitions still bootable?

Thanks in advance for any answers.

Hello Nolajo,

Thank you for you posting and welcome to our forum!

Acronis True Image for Mac doesn't support backing up disks with Boot Camp installed. Please take a look at this article for more information on what you can and cannot back up with Acronis True Image for Mac. And here you'll find the list of supported file systems.

Thank you.

I notice in the user guide that ATI for Mac reads NTFS partitions but does not write same. Why not? That's a problem for users. I'm on OS X 10.10 on mid-2014 rMBP 8/256 plus Parallels Desktop 10 for Windows 8.1. Restoring a full disk image via ATI for Mac renders Windows 8.1 inaccessible because the Parallels Desktop drivers will not load. However, restoring a Time Machine backup poses no problems. Everything works fine. The TM backup completes and restores in about half the time taken by ATI for Mac.

Better! Acronis offered an update, build # 6030. Now everything works as it should. Thank you.
