Mac Catalina and Scheduled Backups

Thread needs solution

Hi. I have question about what I should expect when scheduling backups on Mac Catalina and ATI 2020. Here is scenario

1) I have backup configured to run every week
2) The backup destination is a share on NAS that is on network and is always on
3) I have enabled "Back up When Mac is in Power Nap"
4) I have enabled Power Nap in System Preferences for when mac on battery and when plugged in
5) I do not have Battery Saver enabled in ATI

Unfortunately, the backup is not running when the scheduled date/time arrives. When I look at activity, nothing shows up as having run or failed. And the backup does not run when I use the Mac later that day or next - it just kind of "skips" that backup altogether.

Is this normal behavior or is something not working right?

Thanks
Rob

Hello Rob,

the only limitation is your Mac should be connected via cable to the power supply, the feature does not support Power Nap on battery.

Other than that it should be enough to

  1. Enable Power Nap while plugged into a power adapter in System Preferences and Acronis True Image Preferences
  2. Schedule backup to start during Power Nap

If the issue still persists, please open a support ticket for investigation, so that our engineers can take a look at the logs.
