Missing Features and its workaround

Thread needs solution

First I was more than happy as Acronis released TIH for Mac OS X.
Yes, you could run it on Yosemite, it supports FileVault and even Fusion Drive. /shutupandtakemymoney

But after the purchase I realised TIH is not the same thing as on a "Windows System" or the modded LinuxSystem called RescueMedia.
It may seem that it got "dumbed down" (which is good for optical perception) but not having the option to name your .tib or even exclude files and folders is a no-go.

Actually I DON'T want to use TIH for Mac, since I have to backup 850GB (and 450GB of that is allready stored on my Server) and it would take 8 hours (GBit Ethernet, not USB2.0).

What is Acronis going to do? When can we expect those little two "Features"?

May it be possible to create a "manual" backup (with correct naming the .tib/excluding Folders/compress the .tib) like we got used in the Rescue Media?

Hello Herbert,

thank you for your feedback.

First of all I would like to inform you about the update coming soon, which will let you exclude specific files/folders, exclude data by mask and exclude third party syncing or cloud services' data by backup to Acronis Cloud.

Your request on 'renaming/naming' the backup has been registered and will be reported to the program and UX managers.

Concerning the 'compression the .tib' - it is used by default for all backup types?
If you would like to have the setting, which would let you select compression level, - the request will be registered and reported as well.

Kind regards,
