My external Thunderbolt drive doesn't seem to be recognized as a source for backup

Thread needs solution

Using Acronis True Image 2015 and really like it. When I set up My Mac backup profile, I see my system disk drive (Macintosh HD) but one of my Thunderbolt disk isn't recognized as a source. My other Thunderbolt disk is used for the backup and it can be used as the backup destination.

It appears that in your online documentation that external drives are recognized to be backed up. Is this a known problem?

by the way, the external TBolt drive I want to backup is formatted as a removable Mac OS Extended (Journaled) drive and it has read&write privilege. (As an aside, Time Machine recognizes it just fine.)
