Thread needs solution

Have used TIH for Windows for several years, with excellent results. Currently I'm trying to change my network to Macs. After very good experience with TIH Windows I was very encouraged to learn Acronis has also addressed the disk imaging task for OSX.

After spending a few hours with trial TI Mac, I am very discouraged:
After the initial backup, the routine makes only incremental backups?
How can I change the name of a backup script?
How can I see the state of my disks?
How can I wipe my hard drive?
How can I install a new disk?
The software is not retaining ten consecutive backups (as claimed in the marketing "blurb") but retaining only the most recent backup.

None of these issues are addressed in the manual or GUI, as far as I could see. These are all standard functions in TIH for Windows. TI Mac is priced similarly to TIH Windows?

The on-line user guide/manual is perfunctory in parts. For example, it glibly describes how to access a backup stored on NAS but not on a password protected NAS, access to which is a more convoluted process.

I have completed two system restores so apparently the software works but its flexibility is very, very poor. When will we get a comprehensive backup solution for Mac?

Hi John,

well, I am just testing 1.0.6564 now.
Sadly I have to agree with your results 100% and I am very disappointed too.
...and add a few more to the list:

Why should I buy TrueImage for my MAC? It has even less options than Time Machine.
Why can't I schedule more often than once per day?
Why can't I store more than 10 increments without manually switching to another storage. ?!?
Why isn't TI daemon showing in the menu bar so you can see that iT's running before you suspend or shutdown?
Why does it take so much resources when running? The Mac is running smoothly when Time Machine is working, TI uses more that 50% of the cpu.

I would really like to get rid of TimeMachine because it really is very inflexible when it comes to file restore or restoring Parallels virtual machines, but I suppose as it is now, TI is really even inferior.

Sorry

ok, just a supplemental:

why is there no way to set any notifications?
why doesn't TI compress the backup on a smb share?

Seriously, this is a joke.
