[RESOLVED] RESTORE via RESCUE BOOT MEDIA 2015 does not work under MAC OS EL CAPITAN
I have ATI2015 running under W10 PC and also a MAC BOOK PRO Yosemite OS (3 licences).
For MAC BOOK PRO I use ATIH 2015 build 6725.
Under MAC Yosemite OS, full backup/restore worked fine. (Restore from an ATIH2015 Backup image done via a Rescue Boot Media (USB key)).
I have updated MAC OS from "YOSEMITE" to "EL CAPITAN" version today.
I have full backuped the new system SSD drive on my local external Storeva 3TB drive.
No problem doing that.
I have re build the "RESCUE Boot Media" (USB key) under ATIH2015 when running MAC OS EL CAPITAN as it is recommended each time MAC OS is updated. No problem doing that.
With this new "Rescue Boot Media" when trying to Restore the just created ATIH2015 backup image the "OSX Utilities Menu" offers well the "Recover from Acronis True Image Backup" option.
BUT after this option is selected the "CONTINUE" key remains inactive.
Nothing happens !!
Restore is impossible.
So, in case we have to restore any ATIH2015 system media backup image we can't do it !!!
Is this a known bug ?
Is there a fix of this MAJOR bug ?

Hi Ruslan,
1) A mail from Acronis Technical Support told me ATIH2015 for MAC does not support El Capitan ??
What is the real status ? Is a fix going soon ?
2) I have bought ATIH 2016 and installed on MAC El Capitan (replace ATIH 2015) and got the same issue !!
So, please can you clarify ?

Hi 100PIER,
I can't answer your first question right now, but I will update this thread as soon as I get answer from development team.
As for second question. We supports El Capitan with True Image for Mac 2016 version 2.0.5694. So do you have the latest version? You can check it pressing Acronis True Image drop down menu and choosing "About Acronis True Image". If you already have latest version, have you created new bootable media with it?

Hi Ruslan,
In fact I have bought yesterday "ATIH 2016 upgrade for 3 computers" licence and I have used the provided links from Cleverbridge to download the software.
The download link for MAC variant provides me a file named: "AcronisImage2016.dmg", size = 95.8 Mo.
I have installed it on MAC ElCapitan and detected the presence of the 2015 version. I replied 'Yes' to the question 'Do you want to Replace ?'.
Looking at the just installed ATIH 2016 for MAC version I see version 2.0.5609 !!!
So, you are right , Acronis provided me the wrong version !!!
It is a shame when you bought one Acronis product you get an obsolete software , obsolete version, may be an alpha trial version !!!!!
Looking at my account, I have downloaded today this file: "AcronisImage2016_5694.dmg", size = 98.6 Mo.
I have built a new USB rescue media with this new installed software.
I have backed up the full system SSD on an external local backup HDD store media.
Finally, the "restore" function via the boot media works fine with ATIH 2016 v2.0.5609 !!

To Brant Rider,
Are you using MAC OS El Capitan ?
Do you have installed Acronis 2016 build .5694 full version (no trial) ?
Do you have rebuild your media rescue boot from .5694 running the last El Capitan version ?

yes using the latest build and created all the media with the latest build
Tried three different sub sticks on two different macs.
Yes running El Capitan.
Doesnt work in any situation. Boots to the stick and then just sits there at about 80% after I have to do a hard restart.

Hello Brant Rider. I have the same problem: The Acronis Recovery Media I made with Acronis True Image 2016 under MacOS El Capitan does not boot any Mac. I tried it with 5 Macs - always the same. The process is stopping on the StartUp display of the mac and after 2 hours I make hard restart because there is happening nothing.
So I have now my BackUps but I can not use them because the Recovery Media does not boot the Mac. This software is therefore completly useless !!!!
Yesterday I have got this information from Acronis support: "I have discussed this situation with the experts and should inform you that it is a known issue, our developers are working out already". Acronis obviously knows that Acronis True Image 2016 does not work under El Capitan.

The topic starter's problem has been resolved.
The inital problem was that the media had been created with the 2015 version that didn't support OS X 10.11 El Capitan.
If you are experiencing problems with booting from the media created with Acronis True Image 2016 version please refer to the following thread:
