Specifying the backup method (full, diff, inc...)

Thread needs solution

Is it possible with the ATI 2015 to specify the beckup method? On my PC's I can pick Full, Differential, Incremental, and even Custom with various backup chain cleanup options. On the Mac, I see almost no customization or even indication what's being done. Am I missing something, or is the Mac ATI 2015 really this limited?

Hello Chris,

Thank you for your posting! I'm afraid this is not possible on the Mac systems due to the specific archive format. The first backup version contains all the data selected for backup. The second and subsequent versions contain only data changes that occurred since the previous backup version. All the backup versions are stored in a single backup file.

A maximum of 10 versions are stored in one location. This rule applies to both Acronis Cloud and local or network folders. When you create the eleventh version, Acronis True Image automatically deletes the oldest version of the backup. As a result, you always have the ten most recent backup versions.

Note: In the case of a local or network backup location, you can create more than 10 versions by setting a new destination for the backup. The versions stored in the previous location will not be deleted.

Thank you,

Does ATI keep the first version always? So that would be 11 back up images kept - the initial with all of the data and 10 with the delta or does it keep 1 with the initial image and 9 backups with the delta?

I guess what I'm wondering is if you always have the initial image to go back to if things get really bad?

Jarrod Marshall,

Acronis True Image for Mac keeps 10 last images, so the initial image is with time substituted with newer versions.
(In Acronis True Image for Windows it is possible to keep the initial image)

Anastasia
