USB Recovery Media contains Install Mavericks app instead of Install Yosemite app
Why is this? I have Acronis True Image 2015 for Mac, which Acronis states supports Yosemite. I have just created the recovery disk; I am not using an old one. I take it this means if there is a catastrophic problem with my Mac and I need to use the recovery disk, I will have to first install Mavericks and then Yosemite. Would I still be able to recover the same user and application files? Would there be any problems (for example, if I have applications that are Yosemite-only)?

I cannot even create the recovery media from within Yosemite using the latest version of Acronis. I was able to create it from within Yosemite using a pervious version of True Image 2015, but that will not boot the machine. Total SNAFU.

Acronis True Image for Mac uses your Recovery HD for creating Acronis Bootable Media.
So that means, that created media will be based on your Recovery HD.
There are known issues with update to OS X Yosemite, when Recovery HD is not updated. Please apply to https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6604189

The rescue media show up when I reboot but when I select the Acronis application and I press Continue nothing show up. Are you experiencing the same problem?
If you have the same problem as Richard, so you would need to appeal to the same article.
If it is not your case (i.e. Recovery HD is OS X Yosemite Recovery HD) - then please try to recreate Acronis Bootable Media. If it does not help, please provide Acronis System Report for further investigations (please refer to https://kb.acronis.com/content/47211).

Could you please provide logs (Console -> ~/Library/Logs -> Acronis -> media_builder_log) or even better for deeper investigation Acronis System Report?
Thank you for cooperation in advance.
Kind regards,

I have a slightly different issue...
I was able to create the Rescue Boot Media and can start the MBP 13 (Yosemite) with the USB Rescue Boot Media but once the OSX Utilities screen comes up, I get a Spinning Pinwheel. I have made several rescue boot media disks on several different brands of USB drives and I get the same thing every time. I want to test this out with a restore prior to putting all of my eggs into the Acronis basket and, if I am honest, I am not pleased with it so far.
Any suggestions??

Hi David,
sorry for the delayed answer!
Can you please clarify if you created your bootable media on the same machine or not?
Thank you.

Just wanted to say thank you, Sergey: the solution you pointed to worked like a charm. Chojac, I didn't test before applying the fix to my Mac OS X Recovery disks, but I tried booting from the Acronis one afterwards and it worked OK.
