Using Acronis Bootable Disc to backup and restore bootcamp partition?
Can I use Acronis' bootable recovery disc to backup ONLY the bootcamp partition and to recover ONLY the bootcamp partition later on?
I am not talking about the Acronis app that can be installed on Mac OS X because I cannot backup the bootcamp partition separately obviously...

Well, I created the Recovery Disc with True Image on Windows. Then I booted my Macbook with it and was able to backup the Windows partition on a usb drive. I now have a tib with the bootcamp windows partition - so it seems to be possible.

I for one would love to hear how the Restore works out.
Am about to install ATI for Windows on my BOOTCAMP partition so I can hopefully make an image backup that can indeed be restored. I found out the hard way that the image backup using ATI for Mac does not properly restore the BOOTCAMP partion. It does proceed in a way that gives you confidence it is working - but when I attempted to restart using BOOTCAMP (whether at boot or within Parallels) it would not boot. It acted like it did not have a viable MBR or something. Whatever the problem it was beyond my pay grade! :)
If someone does have success restoring BOOTCAMP using ATI (of any type) I'd love to read about it.

Acronis True Image (ATI) ((2015) did not restore my iMac's Window 10 Bootcam partition.
I lost the Windows 10 Bootcamp partition after the most recent Microsoft Windows 10 automatic software upgrade. It does/did not boot and now produces a BCD - error code 0xc00000f...error message.
The recovery 2015 DVD did not boot inmy Apple's nor Liteon's dvd player under using the iMac's boot options management scheme. That's making my 10 day old ATI image file of the Window's 10 Bootcamp partition impossible to recover. (The recover 2015 DVD disc is and always has been bootable using a windows machine.)
I've used Acronis products since 2009 for Window. Under more normal circumstances, partition recovery has always been possible. I hope that is still the case, and I am looking forward to recovering my current unusable saved partition which should make Bootcamp.. bootable.
Best Buy's Geek Squad wasn't able to make Bootcamp bootable. Right now their plan and I guess mine is start over and reinstall Windows 10 in the Bootcamp partition. This isn't what I expected nor really wanted but at least I should end up with machine uses Windows 10 again.
I do need backup and recovery software for Windows 10 Bootcamp. Losing a partition because of a Microsoft Windows update is totally unacceptable, as its almost like trashing the expensive computer hardware. I hope Acronis has a working plan for iMac's Bootcamp backup and recovery. If I've missed something or there is a solution for the problem I described, I'd appreciated hearing about it. I've yet to look into Acronis ATI 2016, and I haven't hired Acronis's technical support at this time, either.

Hi Roger,
from your posting it is not completely clear how your backup was created. Please note that Acronis True Image supports boot camp only when backing up with application installed on Mac.
We don't support a scenario when Acronis True Image 2016 Windows version is installed inside boot camp partition.
Please refer to this article for more information: https://kb.acronis.com/content/47222

Like Acronis True Image 2016, it also seems very likely that Acronis does not support a scenario where Acronis True Image 2015 is installed inside boot camp partition. However, my witness is that it can be installed in iMac's Bootcamp (mine is Windows 10), and it does save the Bootcamp partition much like it does in a non-iMac Windows machine. My January 22, 2016 backup partition was saved with the file name BOOTCAMP (C)_full_b1_s1_v1 and in Windows Explorer identified it as an Acronis True Image Backup Archive, with a size of 28,676,349 KB. I've examined the files within that archive, and the application programs I've lost for now are very visible.
As long as Acronis 2015 can save a partition, in a method that isn't supported, I still wonder if there's an unsupported method of recovering those programs and BCD boot data, back to my iMac's Window 10 Bootcamp partition.
If there is absolutely no way to do that, I acknowledge that https://kb.acronis.com/content/47222 provides the guidelines for, in the future, to recover a Windows 10 Bootcamp, which I expected to be needed after Windows 10 is reinstalled, and someone else passes me on funky software or updates. ????????????????????
When I installed Acronis for iMac, and started its backup process, backing up Bootcamp was an option I chose not to to, as I was under the almost clear impression that I had saved Bootcamp Windows 10 using Acronis 2015 for Windows, with the ability to recover that partition information if ever need.
What I seemed to have missed is the information from https://kb.acronis.com/content/47222 from floating in front my eyes before I knew I needed it to run Acronis in the iMac.
The fourth paragraph from the bottom does have a question which I would like to have answered before I request Best Buy to reinstall Windows 10 Bootcamp.
