Extracting files and/or folders from USB thumbdrive backups
(Environment: home office, two laptops, no server) Besides doing complete image backups which are stored offsite, I keep key files and folders backed up with ATI2015 to a USB thumbdrive that I keep on my ring of car keys. That way, the files are always with me, in case, say, disaster strikes everywhere at once. I've made the USB drive bootable, but here's my question: is there any way I can extract selected files from those backups to a third machine without booting up the third machine from the USB drive? If the 3rd machine is working fine, it seems a real nuisance to do that prior to copying off a few files.
Thanks,

True, but that doesn't answer my need. Let's say my two laptops (both with Trueimage installed) are stolen or lost in a fire. Or both harddrives crash simultaneously, despite the odds against that. Now, I need to access critical files on the thumbdrive, from say, a friend's or a public computer, temporarily until I can obtain a new laptop. It is unlikely that TrueImage will be installed on those machines. Is there someway to install an extraction module of TrueImage on my thumbdrive so that I can pull those files off? Or is the only method to boot from the thumbdrive?
Thanks,

Yes, it is possible to create an Acronis bootable flash drive which will boot into the TRUEiMAGE RECOVERY program and also have a full disk image backup (plus other files if you wish) stored on the the same flash drive so the keyring flash drive can do both.
Creating such is not so easy but certwinly doable with a little research on your part.
