Forum Suggestion - needs some gas?
I have done some timing trials of this new forum versus the previous Wilders-based one Using both IE8 and FFox3 and with clear caches and browser caching off, Wilders was an average of six times faster for most operations. Notably, Wilders gets to the Acronis forum 'home' page from a link in an average 2.5 secs for me; this forum can take 20 - 30 secs. And even though the load is now off the Wilders forum to some extent, it is still very widely used for prior posts, and my impression is that Wilders was always that quick.
The new forum may (or may not) have some functional improvements, but fleetness of foot is not one of them!

Even under full "Acronis Load" on Wilders, the pages would usually load up in 1/4 to 1 second for me. I agree that the new forum is too slow. The drupal.org forums are also slower than Wilders, but I don't know where their server is located.

And for anyone (like me) still using 56K Dial-up (with no plans to change) for their ISP, the lack of performance speed is especially painful.

Grover,
It's very nice to see a post from you. Hopefully, the forum speed will be improved. Having had dial-up for many years prior to High-Speed/DSL, I can certainly understand your situation.

I went to the old Wilders site yesterday and discovered we had moved. My old login worked - no problem there. Too bad we lost all prior message credit - but, no biggie.
This new forum is definitely crawling in molasses. That usually is related to the host server.
As for the format - much the same - but I have one suggestion. The "Notify me when new . . ." is sneaky. I would like the default to be UNCHECKED. All of a sudden I found myself getting scads of Acronis Forum emails. Not cool.

It's extremely slow today! It took over 1 min to load a reply page.
Please look into this issue.

Hello all,
We're looking for the reasons of this behavior and doing our best to improve the speed of the forums.
Thanks,

It's slow for me too. Who's dumb idea was it to host the forum in Russia? Maybe you should have another server located closer to the customer base.
