Legacy network adapter - run as vm #05227996
Hello Team,
I have a partner who is testing Run a VM and its success. however, when he uses run as VM on the same host where the VM were there the network adaptor would be normal, however, when he uses run as VM on a different host the network adaptor would be on a legacy network adapter could anyone please suggest if this is normal behavior?
I have checked the case query in MM training ground chat, I was suggested to check here.
Partner quote " Hi there, We did a test restore this weekend for a customer - username is "nvsbuadmin" - 3 virtual machines to a different hyper-v host. Same OS - Windows Server 2019. When we do run as vm on the original host, it creates the vm, with a normal network adapter. When we do run as vm on a different host (Agent installed obviously) it creates the vm but with a legacy network adapter This limits the connection to 100mbs and requires that the vm be reconfigured by deleting the legacy network adapter and adding a new normal hyper-v network adapter. "
Thank you

Hello Mohammed!
Please specify the Acronis version you are talking about. Also a good idea to create the post in the forum for that version. Forum administration is rarelly visited imo.
The documentation says that when you are recovering VMs, you halso have VM settings as part of the recovery, which also lists network adapters. Maybe it needed different settings at the other location?
It also says that by default recovered VMs are not connected to a network.

Hello Peter,
Thank you for looking into this, the Acronis agent build is " 15.0.28559 " it's Acronis cyber protect.
Regarding the documents which you are mentioning indeed, there have a setting, however, in this case, partner wants to know regarding Run as VM option, that is when he performs run as VM on the same host there is no issue but when he uses run as VM on the different host the network adaptor would be on legacy network adapter
Need to know the reason for that, Kindly share the update partner is chasing for progress on this
I will be attentive to your response
