Suggestion for Forum

Thread needs solution

Could you create sub categories under here - like 2010 - 2009, etc?  Makes it easier to determine specific comments, issues or whatever by version.

Thanks.

Personally, I don't think sub-categories would be good, especially since thread tracking isn't available. A lot of people already post in the wrong forum sections (TI in B&R, for example), which makes it more difficult to follow. I don't want to have to check the TI 8, 9, 10, 11, 2009, 2010, Echo, B&R, etc., etc. forum sections.

I believe this would be very difficult to implement.  I agree with MudCrab and his comments.  There are postings that don't necessarily apply to one product or build.  Examples might be networking, conflicts with Windows, solid state drives (SSD's) etc.

It would be helpful in some cases if posters would do the following:
1.  Provide a good description in the Topic name.  Example: 'Doesn't work' or perhaps 'This sucks' doesn't give much to work on.
2.  Include product name, version, build number, operating system and service packs plus the product language if appropriate in the posting.
3.  State the issue as thoroughly as possible.  In many cases this is very incomplete.

Hello all,

Jan, thank you for the suggestion.

Technically, it's not difficult to add more sub forums, however as MudCrab and Bruce noticed it can be complicated to browse all the questions/solutions and there are a lot of 'basic', not really version related questions. There are a lot of True Image Home versions and it would be not convinient to browse all the multiple subforums to check all the related threads..

P.S I've moved this thread to the appropriate Forum Section (Forum Administration).

Thanks,
