When I try to setup a "Mailbox backup", I get the following error (I translate from Italian error, so forgive my errors..):

Note that:
the console is installed on the same computer wich runs Excnahe server.
I've just installed Microsoft Messaging API and Collaboration Data Objects 1.2.1.

No answers to this yet then?! I have been trying out the trial version of Recovery for Exchange and after 16 days have still not managed to get it to carry out a backup! I'm now at the same point with this MAPI error.

To get to ths point I have had to repair VSS issues which was a fun job on it's own. Then discovered that my exchange database had corruption and with no backup so far all I could do was carry out the repair option. Even after repair the database could not be defragmented!

And now this error.... will I ever get the database to back up?! The trial will probably run out today!

Hi Robert,

still no answer in the NG, but I've contacted the support via live chat (there is no option for live chat in the "Acronis Recovery for MS Exchange" product so I've opened a live chat from "Acronis Backup & Recovery").
I've chatted with Gunjan Malik and he has told me that Acronis support team has taken in charge my trouble.
As soon as I get some answer from them I'll tell you.

Hello all,

Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help.

The roots of the problem are in the fact that in order to properly handle MAPI calls it's required to have Public Folders Store to be present on the Exchange server, i.e. you should create it first through Exchange Management. There is no need to create any public folders and all you should do is just to create the Public Folders Store. After that please re-create the backup task and see if the problem still persists. You can learn more on how to do it here
