Freeware version of Acronis True Image?

Thread needs solution

I read on some other webpage that there is a freeware version of Acrionis True Image, that goes with Buffalo external hard drives. It said on that page the name is "Acronis True Image HD" but I can't seem to find any documentation on this thing let alone a download link for it.

I found a page for downloading "Acronis True Image HD 2015" and went on to download it, but that just gave me "Acronis True Image 2015" and that prompted me to type the product key. Obviously this one I got is not the freeware version I was looking for.

If anyone knows about where I can get this, or if my source of info is incorrect and this freeware version doesn't exist, please tell me. I am not looking to get a 30day trial version but a freeware version that is supposedly with less functions.

You'll want to contact the OEM manufacturer and work with them.  There are OEM versions from WD, Seagate and others, but they are limited in functionality, older and not supported directly by Acronis.  In most cases, you can find those version on the OEM pages openly, but they are configured so that if you don't have one of their drives installed and using it as the drive to restore to, it won't let you use the product.  Here are links to some of the other OEM versions, but still think you need a key to activate them (one that comes with the purchased hardware).  As far as I know, there is no actual "freeware" version of Acronis.  There are other backup products that do offer freeware vesions though.
