Thread needs solution

I am using a trail version of Acronis server. I have a master computer that I made an image of. I then wanted to clone it to an identical machine that has XP PRO as well (bare machine) that has not gone through the full OS boot. I made an acronics boot disk nad booted the clone using that disk. I connected both these machines to a switch, both are on the same network with a WORKGROUP. I then used the master machine to deploy an image that I had created. At 6 percent the clone gets automatically rebooted. When this happens the master looks connection and I get a deployment error. WHat am I doing wrong. IS it because it is the trial version. SHould I have stayed with Norton GHOST ?
Please advise

Dear Raji!

Thank you for finding time to open the thread regarding the issue, I will be glad to help you with it!

Usually at 6% - 8% the product starts the deployment session with the Agent, and should the process stuck on 8% it means that somehow we cannot access the remote Agent. There are 2 possible reasons:

  1. you are out of licenses (since you are using the trial version it means that you have already deployed 5 machines)
  2. we cannot connect to the Agent due to the network utilization issues

But we have a solution for it. Could you please kindly check:

  • in main menu of the product Tools -> Options -> Network Utilization (make sure you are connected to the machine with the OS deploy server installed)
  • in the template Set Options Manually -> Network Utilization

the Multicast option to be changed to be Unicast. I would also advise you to take a look at the following article for additional information.

This should resolve the issue you have faced.

I would appreciate if you could test this solution and let me know whether everything went fine.

Should you have any further questions or face any difficulties - just post a comment here, we will definitely help you!

Thank you in advance for cooperation!
