Hello paul schnaubelt,

Thank you for using Acronis Migrate Easy

This error can be caused by bad sectors on your HDD. Could you please check the disks for errors?

- Go to the Command Prompt (Start -> Run -> cmd)
- Enter the command: "chkdsk DISK: /r"
where DISK is the partition letter you need to check. Please note, that
checking the C: drive may require you to reboot the machine.

If this does not help, please clarify the following:

-Exact step when clone fails

-If you clone from Windows or bootable CD

Could you please provide me with the exact sequence of actions that lead to the issue you report, so that I can try to reproduce it?

We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience.

Thank you.

 @ Paul,

Did you try to use a bootable disc for your Migrate Easy??

You can ask the Acronis Customer Central for a new ISO file, to create a bootable disc.

I am also having trouble cloning my old hard drive to the new one. Everything goes well until it tries to copy partition drive c:/ .During which, the program stops coping at 16% of the operation proceedure. I've tried several times and the program always stops copying at the same point. Is there a problem with the old drive that is causing this? I have tried Mudcrabs instructions to create a bootable ISO hard drive and still haven"t had any success. My new hard drive is in a USB enclosure. When I stop the process, the partitioning space where drive c:/ is suppose to be is unallocated, but the recovery partition copy is complete and allocated. I have tried manually partioning the disc with computer management in Vista, but I am still unable to clone the drive. Any advice on how to solve this problem or what may be causing the disk clone program to stop copying at the same point would be greatly appreciated. I have also tried True Image with no success and the same results. Thanks.

Hello all,

ScatPack, could you please let me know which cloning type do you use?
