Migrate Easy 7.0 and Windows 7
Hello all. I have a copy of Migrate Easy 7.0. I am trying to migrate my 500gb OS hard drive to a 250gb. Mind you, I am only have about 80gb's worth of data on the 500gb drive. Anyway, when I migrate the data over to new drive (250gb) the whole process runs and says it completed successfully. However, when I disconnect the old hard drive and hook up the new hd and attempt to boot up I get a "autochk not found" error message. I tried the same process using a different destination disk but the same thing happens. I am using Windows 7 64bit if that matters. Any help on this one? Thanks in advance.

I can see this post is old but is relevant to me. I have Acronis True Image Home 2010 plus pack and have just tried cloning to a Larger disk (500GB to 1000GB) and have received the same message "autochk not found" when trying to boot from the new disk. No amount of repairing boot information or registry editing has worked. Is there a repair and what is causing this. I have heard that Avira anti virus can cause this problem can you confirm? I am using Windows 7 Ultimate.

Hello Gregory,
I will help you to resolve this situation.
This issue is not related to our product, it can be caused (as you correctly noticed) by some third part software you're cloning along with the hard drive.
I have searched and found that this issue can be related to the drive partition was accidentally hidden, so you should unhide the partition so the system will boot normally again.
You can do so with the free product called PTEDIT. If you are experiencing a similar issue, please check this forum thread, the fix is described there in details.
Additionally to this, you are welcome to ask me any other questions concerning Acronis, and I will assist you further.
Thank you.

Just purchased new 1TB Harddrive to replace my existing 500GB hdd.
So i figured it was time to upgrade my existing copy of Migrate 6 to MigrateEasy 7.0 build 644
(Reference number: 17758793 Invoice Date: 12/14/2010 )
Installation when flawlessly, format and actived new drive in window 7 smooth, and then I tried to run the program.
Error Message :
"Acronis Migrate Easy failed to move your data because your new hard drive does not have enough free space to complete the operation. The reasons follow.
1. Some of your partitions contain errors. We recommend you reboot your operating system and correct these errors. For example, start the Check Disk utility if you use Windows.
2. Your new hard disk is much smaller than the old one. Make sure you've selected the correct old hard disk. If you have chosen the "As Is" option on the previous page, go back and try to select another option."

Dan,
Did this happen from within Windows or from the rescue CD?
You realise that you didn't have to format your new drive as ME will be replacing what is there, though I doubt that has caused your problem.
Does a reverse clone work via the CD?

I am trying to use Acronis MigrateEasy to clone a new hard drive for my Dell Vostro laptop. Please note this computer originally came from Dell with Vista installed and I have upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium. The program installed and opens properly (once I opened with "run as administrator", I am able to complete the "the add disk" function with no issues, starting the "Disk Clone" function the disk clone wizard opens and I am able to complete all the steps up to the final step which states "Acronis Migrate Easy is ready to perform operations with physical data. Here is a list of operations. There are 6 operations listed with the first reboot showing at operation 3.
Here is where I run into a problem, once I click on proceed I get a notice that a reboot is required to complete this operation. I have rebooted several times, of note upon reboot I get the following; Acronis Migrate Easy, analyzing partitions 100%, Error: Disk not found, Press any key to reboot. Once I press any key the computer reboots and I get the message Acronis Migrate Easy Complete and the computer starts. Upon restart Acronis does not restart. I have to re-open Acronis to start the process.
Info; my current hard drive is a 120 gig and I am trying to replace it with a new Toshiba 320 gig drive.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

WDR,
You will probably get a better result if you start from the recovery CD, this way Windows can't interfere in the process.
If using the recovery CD you find Linux can't see one or both your drives, some more information will be needed about your disk setup as there might be a work-a-round.
I won't be able to get back to you just now as I'm off to bed.

Folks, I am a new user so please forgive if this has been answered before. I have used Migrate Easy 7 in the past very successfully, but find there is no support for Windows 7 and now also find myself needing to migrate to a new drive as I may have a bad hard drive (500Gb to 1TB is my plan). so the question is multipart: 1). Will Acronis update Easy Migrate to a new version that will support Windows 7/8 ? 2). In the meantime, how best can I accomplish a migration to a new 1TB drive? I also own True Image 2013 (and older versions) if that helps me in any way? I appreciate your replies in advance!

Dcaptain,
Use either the clone function in 2013 or if possible, make a full disk image and restore to the new drive from that. Make sure the recovery CD of 2013 canboot and see all your drives before starting to either clone or image your PC.

Hi Roman,
I see that your post dates from Jan,2010. It states that Migrate easy does not support win 7! Here we are in July 2013 and I see no warning on this product's page. So now I bought the latest version yesterday the 25th and It won't work. I reinstalled it 5 or 6 different times with the same error code: "E000101F4 modules de micro application migrate easy introuvables. Réinstaller". In good old English, that is " Migrate Easy module not found, please reinstall".
I used another product of yours indicating that my HDD was in imminent failure state at 10%. That prompted me to take action and use a 256gig Sandisk SSD to replace it to no avail. I believe you understand I'm in dire need of a solution. Please help,
Thank you

This topic needs an update.
1. What is the latest/most current version of Migrate? Are there any plans to update/upgrade it?
2. Does it work, consistently and reliably, with Win 7 and/or Win 8?
3. My particular problem/challenge - I thought I was buying super-premium stuff, when I bought both an Intel i5 CPU and an intel mainboard, for a 64-bit system. Turns out that Intel didn't make good mainboards, and they have quit trying. Because of frequent freezes/crashes, and even the old "blue screen of death", I want to replace my Intel mainboard with an Asus, while keeping (1) the same CPU, which apparently is fine, and (2) the same install of Win 7/64, with same serial number, and with all my other software intact and working, if possible. Only other option is total wipe/format/reinstall and reinstall and reinstall and reinstall, etc., and then see if MS will accept my re-registration.
So -- can Migrate help me swap out the mainboard, from beneath a processor, if my HD stays exactly the same?
And, if not, then could Acronis please look into trying to update/upgrade Migrate, to make it work with Win7?
Because I got a feeling that challenges like mine will become more and more frequent, over the coming years. Especially since so many people like Win7 and want to port it to any new machine, while so few people like Win8.

To be fair it does mention in the "Supported Operating Systems" section, all the operating systems that this software does supports.
Windows7 is not mentioned.
Doubtful if W7 will ever "allow" this type of migration to be used within itself.
Best to look elsewhere maybe?? Do not bother as NO "migration"program of this type will work with 7 or 8. Microsoft has seen to that!!
At least Acronis has the knowledge to tell us this and at least everything else works wonderfully in W7/8/8.1

Acronis ME worked in the past
I have used Acronis ME in the past and it worked beautifully.. until Windows 7 (then 8, 8.1)
I recently wanted to Clone a Windows 7 Ultimate (x64) installed on a 640 GB Drive to a smaller 500 GB Drive, as the larger drive was slated as an upgrade to my HP Pavilion LT running Vista & I had a duly purchased of Windows 7 Professional to install.
I was successful using another software to do the clone, not as spiffy as Acronis, as I had to first shrink the 640 GB Partition to be in line with the 500 GB Drive. The software that did an excellent job was EASEUS Partition Master 5.0.1 Professional Edition (which I originally purchased to do some file/partition recovery)
Hope this helps someone, and I hope Acronis looks again into Upgrading support for Win7+ (If EASEUS Partition Master can do it why not Acronis?) - BJ
PS - To my amazement, when I plopped the original 640 GB Windows 7 Ultimate Drive into my Laptop, with but one small boot-up fix, IT BOOTED UP.. all it needed at that point was some driver updates - What were the chances of that? Go Figure!
PPS - EZ Gig by Apricorn is a Hardware/Software Upgrade solution, meant for Laptop Upgrades but will work with any SATA Drive and a USB Port, that also does a good job of cloning a Drive

Hello BJ Orden,
thank you for your posting!
I'll pass your feedback regarding adding support of new operating systems to our development.
However, I'd like to inform you that Migrate Easy is not the only Acronis solution which can help you to copy all data to a new disk.
Actually, Acronis True Image 2014 is much more flexible and contains cloning function too.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
Thank you.

Great thread!
Interesting about True Image 2014.
Haven't tried it yet, I've found most such software doesn't quite clone correctly..but maybe it might be better?
