Migrate Easy 7.0 - cloning 90GB - 2 identical drives - 11 hours!

Thread needs solution

it's taking migrate easy 7.0 on one of my machines 11 hours to clone a 250GB HD with only 90GB of data into another identical drive. i have other machines with similar drives doing the job in about 20-30 minutes. what am i doing wrong? i'm using 2 identical WD sata drives with only 90GB of data and 160GB free space. i run chkdsk on the main drive. run the defrag. can't think of anything else.

any help is greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Mike

Hello Sara!

Thank you for the detailed information you have provided us with. I completely understand the issue and would like to help you with it.

Unfortunately at the moment it is difficult to say what exactly is going wrong, because migrating depends on many factors, so let's investigate the issue .

First of all, could you please kindly specify whether you are migrating the drives from Windows or from the Acronis Bootable Rescue Media?

In case you are cloning the drives from Windows, could you please kindly do the following?

1. - Download AcronisInfo
- Run the downloaded file.

The gathered information will be put in AcronisInfo.zip in the same folder, where the AcronisInfo was saved.

This information will allow us to take a closer look at the Acronis product state and logs.

2. Could you please download Acronis Report utility available at  and run it, create a report and send it to us? Please compress the Acronis Report output file into an archive (e.g. with WinZip) and attach to your message by browsing for the archive.
This would provide us with detailed information on the hard disk partition structure.

Please kindly contact me with this information gathered, I will be glad to review it and provide you with the solution.

Thank you!

thanks Yana. you assistance is greatly appreciated. i attached the files you requested. please note that the main drive has 2 partitions (C & D) and the secondary drive has 2 partitions (X & Y). please discard the Z drive in the log file.

Hello Mike,

Thank you for the provided information!

I have analyzed the information you sent, your hard drives are clean, without any filesystem errors or bad blocks. This issue can be related to some third part programs installed under Windows, we may exclude Windows environment from causes by performing clone from Bootable Rescue Media.

To create it please follow: Tools -> Create bootable rescue media. Then boot your machine from it and you will be able to use Acronis True Image without booting any OS.
Acronis Bootable Rescue Media is a standalone version of Acronis Migrate Easy 7.0, burned onto a CD and based on a Linux operating system.

Please let us know the results!
