Migrate Easy assumes system drive is C:
Clone process worked fine and the new disk booted OK however it did the 'load desktop' thing and failed to start explorer. The reason being is that the source disk contained windows 7 on the H: drive and the clone put it on the C: drive. So now windows 7 is confused enought to see user profiles but cannot load them and cannot find many of it's applets.
Setting the source system to C: is not an option as that requires a reinstall of the OS so how can Migrate Easy persist the H: drive letter for the boot OS?

I think the problem as far as W7 is concerned is that the W7 boot manager can reference installations by reference or by fully qualified path, when cloning to another drive especially one that is different in size, the sectors where the OSs start as far as the BCD database are concerned are now wrong, so it will either not boot Windows or reference the wrong place.

So what is the short answer, Migrate Easy does not work for windows 7 if the OS is NOT on C:?
