New Drive still shows up as the same smaller size of the older back up drive....HELP!

Thread needs solution

I used Acronis Migrate 7.0 to upgrade to a larger internal harddrive and everything worked fine and I am able to boot and most programs are working fine.

The problem is that the drive still show up as the smaller partitioned sizes.

How do I fix this? Please help.

Hello Brett!

Welcome on Acronis Forum, we're glad to have you among us.

Unfortunately due to the lack of information it is difficult to identify what was the cause of the issue, but I would suggest you to remigrate the hard drive, choosing manual migration and performing small resizing of partitions. You can find more information about manual migration mode in the User's Guide, page 13.

Should the issue persist, please kindly gather the following information:

  1. Exact sequence of steps performed
  2. Acronis Info from the machine in question
  3. Acronis Report from the machine in question
  4. Screenshot of Disk Management

After that please kindly contact support directly with the information attached. Should there be any procrastination with the reply, feel free to tell us the case number - we will do our best to speed up the process.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you!

Here is the sequence and some info on my machine and hard drive in question:

Sony
Seagate 120 GB (older drive that was full)
Had C Drive (that was full) approx. 20GB
Had D Drive (that was nearly full) approx. 100 GB
Running XP home edition

I purchased a WD 500 GB PATA drive.
Used Acronis 7.0
During the set up I selected "delete partition" under manual set up
After "successful installations" all okay except:
Under "My computer"....I still see both C and D drive with partition- Without the New Drive being visible.

Used WD diagnostic tool "Lifeguard" it shows.....Physical drive at correct 500GB but also shows
two "logical drives" C and D same as sizes noted above.

Could you please help, I work all day and have already spent every hour I have left, on this issue.

Sincerely,

Thanks
