Verifying Migrate Easy clone

Thread needs solution

I just cloned my 250 gig hard drive onto a 500 gig usb drive. it took about 3 minutes. Does that sound right?

When I check the Properties of the usb drive it shows that the drive is now full. When I click on the drive to view the contents the drive appears to be empty.

How do I verify that the cloning operation was successfully completed?

Steve,

If the clone was successful, the drive should show exactly the same contents as your source drive.

How much used space is on the source drive?

Try connecting the destination drive to a different computer, if you had both the cloned drive and the original attached at the same time this will have confused Windows. Only one OS drive should be connected on frst boot of the new drive.

Did you start the clone from within Windows or from the CD? Clones of OS drives should be made from the CD based version.

I have the demo version of Acronis. Are you saying that It won't work to clone an OS drive?

Steve,

Do you have Migrate Easy or True Image trial?

You can't clone with the True Image trial version. That would explain a blank destination drive.

Migrate Easy though, I believe you can. TI will allow all other actions such as imaging etc for 30 days after which it can only recover images.
