Rescue media won't load on HP notebook

True Image Home 2010, Build 5026
Windows Vista Home Premium, SP2, Build 6002 (X64)
HP Pavilion dv5, AMD Turion X2 (ZM-80), 4GB RAM, AHCI 1.0 SATA Controller, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3450 Video Controller
Issue: Installed TI Home 2010 and created Rescue Media via Tools and Utilities. Booted system to rescue media and selected TI Home Full Version option. After a short period of time, the screen goes black, and the CD/DVD stops.
I have a brand new HP Pavilion dv7-3085dx Core i7 notebook with Windows 7 Home Premium, and have the same problem. I have been an Acronis customer for several years, and experienced the computer lockup when trying to use my TI Home 2009 rescue Media. I downloaded the current version of TI Home 2010 (build 5.055) and installed it. It seemed to create the image OK. I then made a new Rescue Media CD from TI Home 2010, but like my 2009 rescue media and like Chris (see above) my computer hangs when tring to load TI Home from the rescue Media CD.
I downloaded marcium reflect and made a Rescue Disk from it (it is a linux-based disc), and it boots and loads OK, so the problem seems to be with Acronis TI Home.
Can I get the Linux Rescue Media iso that was sent to Chris? Maybe that will work. Otherwise, I will not be buying the update to TI Home if it won't do a rescue restore from disc.
(by the way, I need to update my e-mail address with Acronis, so don't send iso file to my old centurytel address)

Hello John
I did the same experience :-( , but on a Fujitsu Esprimo P2550 business PC.
I installed a 2nd SATA HD and I started TI Echo server in safe mode and then was able to make a backup. But in save mode the backup takes much more time.
It seems that Scronis TI software has problems with the new PC chipsets. LaterI will try it it works if I turn off the AHCI mode.
W..B.

Hello all,
Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.
Let me help you with the issue.
The thing is that sometimes standard Acronis Bootable media generated by the software can't recognize some particular hardware. In that case you should use an alternate bootable media that can be downloaded from your account. This different media is based on ISOLINUX bootloader whereas the standard one is based on Acronis Loader.
ISOLINUX Bootable Media is usually more up to date than the Acronis Loader one. This is due to the fact a new version of Acronis Bootable Media is uploaded to the website more frequently than regular product updates are released.
ISOLINUX Bootable Media has several boot parameters that may help overcome possible issues with booting. You can also set a specific VGA resolution in the ISOLINUX media if there an issue with the Graphical User Interface (GUI).
Please follow the below instructions to download the ISOLINUX media:
- Log in to your account (if you do not have one, you will need to create it);
- Once logged in, click My Products & Downloads:
- Scroll down to the registered product and click Bootable Media:
- Click Download:
-
Acronis Bootable Media will be downloaded as an ISO file. See Burning an ISO Image.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
Thank you.

Not even most recent ATIH2010 downloaded from link given by support is able to deal with X58 X58/Express chipset. I have tried it with Fujistu-Siemens Celsius M480 and my home PC. Both has X58 and ICH10R chipset.
May you honestly answer, whether Acronis ATIH2010 is supporting X58 chipset AND is it able to restore disks successfully? Is there a list of hardware or manufacturers that this product have been tested with ?
All my tests with alternative downloads I got were showing that there is no complete support nor it's tested well; e.g. it recognizes controller and it recognizes disks that are connected to ICH10R, but it hangs when the sata connector is NOT connected to the disk. Same happens for USB readers, acronis/linux hangs forever waiting for memory card to be inserted.
I clearly understand and appreciate tech support from India team who are doing excellent job in supporting me. It must be a difficult job to have many customers like me, who want their product work properly on newer hardware (4 or 5 PCs or so covered by the license)- while actually sole MANAGEMENT of acronis puts them in such difficult position. I wish you a good luck.
Being a user of ATIH2010, I will feel free to put my own personal opinion here. It's for the sake of discussion with other users and hearing opinions
It' appears to me as extremely bad management decision to use linux as recovery OS knowing that :
- linux always lacks behind with drivers in comparison to widows,
- that manufacturers put so many effort to have drivers certified with Microsoft
- that Microsoft has initiated this "driver certification" program exactly to make Windows stable as stability depends on quality of drivers.
- that Microsoft offers PE with certified drivers and competition does use PE instead of Linux...
So it's obvious that management decided for maximizing profit, and reducing costs on using Linux which in this CRUTIAL product (ATI) is reducing quality. To reach fully functionality of software user must purchase additionally ATI Plus. Now prices are not in favor of Acronis any more.
if I was a decision taking manager, I would of never done this but do this:
- I would have build one product for Linux for Linux community and another product for windows (server and desktop OSes) with their own restore CDs in respect to OS used for doing backup. Linux should be free as it's not profitable (low profitable on software) market anyway. Windows release should be based on WinPE.
- I would also try to make them released together so that end users can exchange images and restore them with whatever ATI they have.
- I would have made contract with server selling brands for including Acronis into price of server so that I know that my e.g. FujitsuSiemens will be supported.
This way, they wouldn't have mess with LinuxCds to lower the costs. They would have compensated it. I hope acronis management will be refreshed by adding someone who has more clean and strait strategy aligned with technicalities of the products.

It's the same thing with my old Laptop (German Terra with Clevo mainboard, nvidia based, build 2006!!): with older versions of acronis rescue media there never was a problem in restoring a complete system and i did it (had to do it :-)) several times. Now i decided to upgrade to ATIH 2012, downloaded the rescue media from my account, put it on CD, rebooted my laptop and nothing happens furthermore. I got to the screen where i could select True Image or Disc Director, choosed True Image (full version), the screen got black and that it was. After 10 minutes of waiting i gave up. Tried the rescue media of ATIH 2010 from my friend, got the same effect with additional white stripes on the screen (crash of the grafic card). And no: i don't want to create a barts PE disk or something like that. I bought a working software and i expect it to work and when it dosn't, i draw my conclusions on Acronis. It's a shame, a time ago it was the best software for system backup...
