Windows restored a backup from the boot disk recovery. I installed the version 12 upgrade from 11, got an update. Strictly followed the instructions of the installer. 12 version did not see ANY disk in the system.

Dzunga,
It is better to first uninstall an old version, get rid of any remaining Acronis devices in the device manager.
Your case seems similar to cases where there is a conflict between versions of low-level ACronis drivers.
If you can, restore your system with 2011 installed on it.
Launch msconfig, go to the services tab and *un*check hide Microsoft services, click on select all, then check hide Microsoft services, then *unselect* all. (this way only Microsoft services are enabled). Go to the startup tab, and unselect all items.
Reboot.
Uninstall 2011 or v11. If you have 2011, run the clean up utility found here. *Follow* all the instructions until the very end!

Follow the instructions here to verify that snapman has been removed.

Reboot,
Install 2012. Verify that it sees the disk normally.

Can I use that clean tool for vr10? I would like to install 12 again but had big issues also. Just want to do it right.

I don't think there is a cleaning tool for v10. I wouldn't use the 2011 or 2012 cleaning tools. Uninstall using Windows, remove Acronis devices from the device manager, check the remnants of snapman as describe above. Get a clean boot environment (msconfig process). See post #3.
