Update Backup List and Manually Adding Doesn't Work

Thread needs solution

I had to restore my main system drive and when I did the log files for Acronis no longer showed the most current backups. I tried clicking the "Update Backup List" option and also hit "Browse For Backup", selected the backup files and hit "Add to Backup List", but nothing happened either way. I've searched the forum and saw others who had this issue, but no fix. Is there a fix?

Is this TIH 2011 you are referring to? Which build?

Is the drive that has the images on attached and running when you are trying to update the database?

In my experiments I have found that it can take up to 1 minute before the item is added to the database, but I'm using a VM addressing another drive.

"Adding an existing backup to the list"
I am also having a problem trying to Add an existing backup to the list. As a matter of procedure I copy each backed up file to a second drive that I use just to Archive for an on going history of saved instances.

I am using Home 2011 build 6696 and this is the first time I have tried this since upgrading to home 2011. What happens is that I "Browse for backups" to fine the archive file and hit the "Add to backup list" and nothing happens. I waited for many minutes as you suggested but nothing happens. I tried two different disc and neither works. They are both external drives but then so is my primary backup drive.

If this doesn't work is there a way to validate a file that is not on the back up list? I have found no way to do so and I need to be sure my archive file is good.

Dale,

The current buge by which the backup you restored is not showing up as a backup upon restore is still there.

You can right click on the TIB file in Windows Explorer, choose Archive, Validate.

If you don't see the Acronis contextual menu, launch ATI, help, settings, integrate with Windows, enable context menu.

Sorry I never posted back. I didn't realize I had to check the option in my account settings to receive responses.

This has been fixed for me with the latest Acronis 2012 version.
