Error: "Failed to copy disks"

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I am using Backup & Recovery 11 Advanced Workstation v17438 with Universal Restore. The error I'm receiving is "Failed to copy disks" when I select the destination drive to restore to. The image was of a Windows 7 64bit PC and I am attempting to image it to dissimilar hardware. The image file (TIB) is saved on an external hard drive.

Thank you for any help.

Can you post screenshots of source selection ( is 'what to restore' window where al volumes with theis properties are listed and screenshot of dialog with the error.

It may happen if source partition was backed up sector-by-sector and can't be resized to smaller disk. To check it, switch 'backup contents' to 'volumes' on the second screenshot - what are parameters of volumes in archive (or post another screenshot). If 'fre space' of some volume is 0 this is the case.

Source wasn't backed up sector-by-sector and I successfully used the image elsewhere. I tried switching to volume restore instead of disk and I got an error that the destination disk could not be resized. I think the image might be too large for the HDD as I used maximum compression when I made the image. Going to try swapping out the drive for something larger.

Backed up data size reports 55, it should fit 75 gb target. Another thing to check is if exclusions were used during backup, they are not taken into account and occupied space on source disk (and required space on the target one) is counted as if they were not used.
