ATIH 2011 graphics distorted using Startup Recovery manager

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I am proving the usefullness of Acronis to myself (once again) by using ATIH 2011 to let my wife 'just restore the initial image' when things in Windows seem to be messed up (I gave up to find out how she manages to do this every time).
She uses an old Dell Dimension desktop, but apparently support for the on-board graphics (Intel 865) is broken in Startup Recovery Manager. The TIH 2011 Full Version graphics are corrupted and in weird colors, in a way that you really cannot see enough to navigate the program. I found out by reading these forums that (using the F11 key) adding parameter vga=311 solves the problem by forcing a 640x480 mode. Fine!
Now my question is: is there any way to save this parameter so that Startup Recovery Manager uses this resolution every time it is invoked. I cannot expect my wife to add the parameter in the case of an emergency. It should really be something like press F11 on startup and ENTER ENTER go....

Any help deeply appreciated,

Rogier

I found the solution by editing the F11.CFG file in the \common files\acronis\true image home directory and re-activating the Startup Recovery Manager. I removed the standard line VGA=VESA and added VGA=785 after the QUIET parameter for kernel start. 785 is decimal for 311, which is the desired VGA mode (640x480x32 bits color). Hope anyone can use this info.
