If clone should fail?

Thread needs solution

If I run the clone of current working disk to a larger disk and something should go wrong, will it mess anything up, or still just work as it does now?

Thanks

Flip a coin. If there is a user mistake or a hardware or power blip, you could be out of commission.

However, if you create "disk option or disk mode" backup which includes all partitions and everything on the disk and save that to an alternate location, then if cloning goes wrong, you could restore the backup and be back in business with minimal downtime.

Or, the safer way to achieve you goal would be to create the backup and then restore the backup onto a larger disk. This method would void the risk factor because you have the backup which can be restored multiple times and the cloning process would not be used.

Figures 1-5 at this link show how to create a disk option or disk mode backup plus the remaining illustrations show how to create the full task so you can have regular automatic backups.
