Bootable Media Rescue Builder: ATIH 2012, Update 2.1, build 7133
USB or optical media creates fine, but does not boot.
Workstation details: MS Win 7 Ultimate x 64 SP1
Intel DX79SI MB, 8 Gig RAM, i7-3960 CPU 3.30 GHz; Intel Bios (latest update dated 7/9/2012).
Symptoms: irrespective of whether optical or USB "bootable rescue media" is created by ATIH, and (of course) with Bios set for optical booting and/or USB booting first, the Acronis "bootable disk" simply doesn't boot...the workstation moves on to the bootable hard drive.
How do I resolve this?

Hi:
Thank you - answers:
F10: yes, doesn't help/work....ie., still bypasses.
Bios documentation: correct (many settings). FAST Boot (FB)/Genl Opt: all "Disable" (FB not used). EFI booting is "enabled" (use greater than 2 Tb HD). "Boot USB Devices First": Enable. "Boot to Optical (and removeable) devices: Enable. Boot to Network: Disable. Boot Menu Type: Normal.
Thank you again: intelligent input....but not a resolution.

You can disable UEFI boot to be able to boot from devices other than the 2TB internal hard disk without problems, but you must turn UEFI boot back on to enable booting to your hard disk afterwards. (I wish I had one of those boards in my system:)

Hi:
Thank you: you are absolutely correct.....had somehow decided ATIH 2012 supported UEFI, but surely can't be if the bootable media component fails UEFI boot!
The Intel board had a rather serious issue regarding its USB controller that undermined Win 7 stability....which wasn't (partially, but mostly) corrected until 9 July bios update (board released late last year).
So, with resolution now for almost a week, the board/chip seem stellar.
Your help very appreciated. Thank you again.
