Error Showing After Getting Passed The ATI Menu Using Bootable Media

Thread needs solution

Good Morning, Afternoon To All Moderators And Fellow Members Of Acronis,

I'm not sure if it's correct or not to post the problems i'm facing right now over at this forum, else please re-direct this post to the appropriate folder.

okay, here's my question . . I've just purchased TIH 2012 back in Feb 2012, and have just started to used it recently. Before i'm going to explain the problems, i'm going to go into the details for the type of system i'm using at the moment. i've a 500GB WD hard disk, separated onto three partitions.

No,i'm not using Acronis Disk Director, just inside windows partition (does it makes a difference using Disk Director and Windows Partition, just wondering?)

Partition A -- Local Disk C (main drive of the partition)
Partition B -- Local Disk D (for backup purposes of Local Disk C)
Partition C -- Local disk E (another different language OS)

Okay, before i partition-ed it previously, which is still under one 500GB drive, TIH seems to work properly for me during boot-ing. the reason is coz i've create a "bootable media" onto my external thumb drive, and it can boot up till the screen which allows me to select what to recover.

But as of yesterday, after i created a partition for it, everytime i tried to get into the "booting" screen, it shows the errors as posted in the picture (sorry, it was night time at my place and i'm using a camera to take a picture of it).

Some might say the files at the external thumb drive might be corrupted. . okay, fair enough, i deleted all the files inside the thumb drive and once again, create a new bootable media and guess what, it still doesn't work. so, i searched up onto the web for assistance, but to no more avail. the best i could get was, burn the ISO bootable media on a CD, in which i've tried but it still seems no luck.

So i'm just requesting, that hopefully the respective staffs of ACRONIS might looked into this matter.

Thanks!

It doesn't make any difference.

Well, if you allow me to interject here: it is not a good idea to store your backups on the same disk. If your disk dies (and disks do die), you will be out of luck for any restore. My advice is to store your backups on an external USB disk. Anyway, this is why you posted, so let's go back to your questions...

So, if I understand correctly, you modified the partitions on your main disk, and since then, the bootable media doesn't work? What operations did you do exactly to the disk?

Hi PatL, thanks for the reply

It doesn't make any difference.

Okay, Thank You.

okay, thanks for the advice. actually, i've also done a backup to my external 1TB transcend hard disk. but then, the problem lies on, Acronis bootable version not able to detect my external hard-disk. i'm still wondering why.. that's when everything was under one hard disk, no partition.

so, i've tried it an hour ago that using my USB thumb drives to do the bootable version.. and guess what; the problem still occurs the same as i've posted on the attachment files.. "kernel error, EPI error, kernel_thread_helper error ".

Sorry, but i think i didn't modified my main disk which is "C" drive. just did a partition to install another operating system.

Thanks for the reply.

I've attached another file which i just took minutes ago to show the problem once again.

Thanks!

Can you get to the menu where to choose ATI or to start Windows? If yes, hit F11, you should the word "quiet" appear, enter "acpi=off noapic", hit OK and start ATI. Does it work?

Hi, Pat. yes, i can enter all the way to where i can to choose either "True Image Home 2012" , "Generate Report" and "Run Windows" .. i'll take a pic and attached it later.

as for your suggestion, i'm going to try it soon and let you know again later.

Thanks

Hi Pat,

sorry to inform-ed you that the method which you taught me doesn't work as well.

tried a lot of times all various methods, didn't work. All of the methods i use are on a USB thumb drive.

Thanks for your help! ^_^

Guess i'll have to go as brief as possible in the next post for the mobo that i'm using else the relevant staff of acronis just isn't gonna look into this matter.

If there's any other information required, please do let me know as i'm seriously frustrated with this. But to make sure it might be the problem that i caused, i'll let to hear the relevant technical staffs of ACRONIS to provide some information on it.

Methods i've used till now :

1. Create CD bootable media , downloaded from the account
2. Create USB bootable media , using True Image Home 2012

Thanks , and pat, i really appreciate the help that you've given so far. Fast response! ^_^

*Edited the title for misleading problem*

Stephen,

What file system do you have on the new partition?

Right click on the computer icon on your desktop, choose manage, storage, disk management. Then go to the view menu, choose top, and disk list. Create a screenshot of that and post it to your answer...

Hi Pat,

Thanks again for the reply. I'm installing a Japanese Windows XP SP3 on my other partition. the reason why i installed another language is that , i believe it doesn't share the same .DLL as well as any Windows files to it, including Recycle bin .. well, that's all based on my research so far. Coz previously, i've installed the same language which is "English" onto it they're like sharing the same files ? i'm not quite sure about it.. becoz i've corrupted the registry several times, formatted my hard drive several times as well, like about 3-4 times.

Using CCleaner to clean registry.

I've also attached a file , Thanks again.

I have a wild guess and I am wondering whether the error is not coming from the use of non-latin characters for that other partition. Is it possible for your to give that new partition a label in latin characters, or simply remove the label temporarily to see what happens?

Hi Pat,

at first i also thought that i did the partition wrongly.. becoz when i double-checked it again, there's a primary partition drive, extended partition drive as well as logical partition drive. so i decided to removed backup drive, japanese windows xp as well as the free space as seen in the picture.

so it's all back to 1 drive now and that's C drive --> main drive.

so i inserted the USB thumb drive and in hoping that it would work, but the problem still's the same. so i tried the CD bootable version, well, it's even worst. then, i thought it might be my VGA producing the errors. replaced with a brand new un-touch VGA which i bought from some online store. and guess what .. the problem is still there, so it's not my VGA's hardware problem.

i don't know, i'm going to pay the PPI, hopefully someone will really do some drastic measures for it. i'm fed-up with all these craps.

Thank You Pat, for giving a helping hand

Hello Everyone,

Thank you for your open discussion and many suggestions from MVP's. Thank you.

For your situation, you can install the support for japanese language without installing Windows XP new. See this link for instructions. There will be no conflict with your englisch language pack. Also you can install any other OS to a virtual Machine. For that you can use free virtual machine programs, such as VirtualBox.org.

So a rollback to your previous setup will solve your current situation. To do this, you have to repair your Master Boot Record after deleting the second OS from your disk. If this is not a acceptable workaround, I suggest to contact Acronis Support for further investigation. See here more information about.

If there is anything else, we can do for you, please let me know.

Thank you.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for the reply too. but the problem right now isn't about what happen with the unicode or non-latin characters,

i'm making a complaints on why, when i used the CD bootable media, it can't get through to the screen where i'm supposed to do backup or recovery? i'm planning one-step ahead so that i can recover it through bootable media, and not inside windows operating system itself? is there still no support for it?

thank you.

Hello Stephen,

Thanks for your reply.

As I suggested in my last post, you should in this case contact Acronis Support. If the boot media does boot before you have done the changes and does not longer boot after the changes, it is really not clear, why this should happen, as the linux boot media is a live linux boot environment.

If there is anything else, we can do for you, please let me know.

Thank you.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for the reply again. "Acronis Support" --> is this under PPI? coz i just purchased PPI for $13.90 SGD, and till now i still can't activate it.

Hello Stephen,

Thank you very much for the follow-up.

We have created a case for you and forwarded it to our Support team who reached out to you by e-mail.

Please let me know if you need additional help.

Thank you.
