Scheduled Full Backup Fails

Thread needs solution

I'm attempting a scheduled Full backup of my C drive to an external 2tb drive at
11pm on Sunday nights. The external drive is K, has more than enough space, is plugged in and
working. At the scheduled time, the task starts and I get the following message

"MyBackup06182012 Task is waiting for user interaction.
Description: My Disk Drives Backup
Information: Error occurred while creating the file.
Details:
Click Browse to specify volume location, Retry to try again, or click Cancel."

I replied RETRY and got the same message again. I replied RETRY a second time and got the
same message again. I replied RETRY a third time and got the same message a third time.

I cancelled the task and ran it manually fine.

The following is the message emailed to myself from the scheduled task:

I checked the error database for the code 0x4000a+0xFFF0+80070003 which tells me that
it can;t find the external drive which in fact is there.

I've tried this 3 weeks in a row and have gotten the exact same results.

If I run the task manually, it works perfectly.

Assistance please.

It's possible that your external hard disk has gone into "sleep" mode and is not "waking up" when Acronis tries to access the drive. If you can control the "sleep" mode, set it to never "sleep" (for testing). If this works, than at least you will have a starting point for troubleshooting.

I believe Sleep mode has been disabled, but I will check it again.

If sleep mode is the issue, then why does a manual backup work when done immediately after
the scheduled backup failure?

What version of Acronis True Image Home are you using?
Have you tried turning off the schedule, saving the task, and turning the schedule back on?
Have you tried deleting the task, and re-creating it?

I'm using TIH 2010 and I have deleted the task and recreated it.

I disabled the Non Stop Backup service and the scheduled task now works perfectly.

Just curious, did you have a nonstop backup task actively running, or did you just decide to turn off the service because you didn't need it?

I don't use nonstop backup and never have. I found a thread here that alluded to this as being the cause of this issue
in TIH 2010 so I checked and found it is enabled by default in TIH 2010. Turned it off and all is good.

Thanks for the update.
