Backup verify fails on Acronis True Image Home 2012

Thread needs solution

Hi - I am on version Acronis True Image Home 2012 Update 2.1 Build 7133 - just upgraded.
When I make a backup and it reults in a 188,222,04 KB (188+GB) image, when the verify
stage is about 95% (estimate), I get and error that it has failed (don't have the exact
wording but I can recreate it) with the error code: 0x00040001+0x0000FFF0+0x800705AA.
Unfortunately, when it directs me to the page for help, it is an unknown code. Before the
last update, things went fine with no problem. I usually backed up to an external USB
conencted drive with plenty of space. Whenever it gets towards the last 5%, it appears to
just sit there. No activity on the externally connected USB drive which has plenty of space
left on it. Subsequently, I tried it on a small network connected raid system. Once it
reached the last 5%, no data was being tansmitted. As to the no activity, since the
error pop up is usually obscured behind other windows, it might have been there
for a while when I thought it was still work, hence no disk activity. So, in essance it
mgiht actually give an error prompty and I not see it due to the hidden window. I plan
on trying to test it again and try to be around when it pops up.

Update: from looking at the log, I found the error:

Error occurred while reading the file

This is what appears on the pop up with the above mentioend error code.

Any suggestions on where to go from here?

Thanks,
Douglas

Douglas,
Check your Windows Events log under the System section and see if you have any errors or events being recorded during the same time period that Acronis appears stalled.

Hi,

Should have posted in the original, I did check the logs and found no error or informational entries.

Thanks,
Douglas
