scheduled backups not starting

Thread needs solution

I know this question has been posted in other forms before, but I haven't found anything that would specifically apply to my issue.

I'm trying to back up certain folders every 2 hours, with an full backup once a day, at 12:00 AM, and then incremental backups during the rest of the day. I have it set up to do a full backup after every 11 incremental backups, scheduled to run every 2 hours, made sure the "only run when computer is idle" checkbox is cleared.

I created the backup and started it the first time at midnight, but when 2:00 rolls around it does not fire off. No telling when it might start: 2:35, 2:58, ? ...

It is important that this backup runs on time, so that I can schedule other backups in-between, and so I can have one backup set (1 full & 11 incremental) each day. If the timing is off the backup sets span across days and it gets very messy to keep track of.

Any help would be appreciated!

Have you thought about using the Windows task scheduler instead of Acronis's scheduler to schedule your backups? Take a look at this guide http://forum.acronis.com/system/files/mvp/user285/guides/win7scheduler…

Thank you - that sounds very promising, and I'm going to try it out. My only question is whether or not the TIH automatic clean-up will work or not. Currently it is set to keep only a week's worth of backups (7 backup sets), and the auto-cleanup is working well. If I start the task with windows task manager, I wonder if TIH will still be able to control that.

At any rate, I appreciate your suggestion! I'll report back in a few days on how its working...

I think the cleanup is in the task itself, as I can manually run a task that has autocleanup enabled, and it will do as setup in the task. Your mileage may vary. :)
