Cant see "system reserved" partition"?

Thread needs solution

Hi
I've just installed 2012 build 7133 and have gone to back up my "C" Drive, i remember in 2011 you could see the system reserved partition as you had to make sure that was ticked as well, but in this version i cant see it, i've tried switching between disk & partition mode but that makes no difference.

Yet when i look at the help file it clearly shows the "system reserved" partition in the screen shot.

Can anyone tell me if im backing up correctly??

Thanks

Pete

You should open up Windows disk management and verify that you do in fact have a system reserved partiton. Not all Windows installations have one.

Thanks James, didn't even think of that, well you are correct, i have checked and its not there, but should i be worried, i did a fresh install of windows 7 64 bit and presumed it would have the hidden partition?

If you do a fresh install, reserved partition is created only if you install it on unpartitioned disk. If the disk is partitioned it won't be created.

Windows will run fine without having a separate system reserved partition, but you should check and make sure you don't have it on a drive other than your Windows system drive. If you have more than one hard drive in your system, it could be located on a different drive.
dev-anon is correct about why you may not have a system reserved partition.
