ATIH2012 Plus stops responding at start of program

Thread needs solution

I've been using this for months but today when I tried to move my backup to a different directory I went to the tools section to browse what's what in there. When I tried to click back to the Backup and Recovery tab, the program just froze with a (not responding). I waited for like 10 minutes. When I tried to exit by clickking the (X) button on the top right, the program just popped a windows dialog box that the program didn't close properly and whether to send for assistance and close the program, etc.

When I try to re-run atih it just freezes, even when I try it after rebooting.

What's wrong and how to fix this. Do I uninstall and reinstall? Is there no "Fix Installation" option under Windows Add/Remove program? BTW, I'm running Windows 7 Pro SP1. And last night I had several Windows Updates (20+) and 8 of them just won't install. Tried it several times. Related?

Also I just purchased Disk Director 11 Home. Installed without a hitch. I also created to bootable media.

Please help. I haven't done my backups in over 2 weeks. Thanks.

I would try uninstalling and reinstalling. It's possible the Windows Update problem is related if something didn't get updated correctly that TI needs. If you're comfortable restoring the system you could do that and then try again. Sometimes updates just don't install properly the first time.

For TI not starting, also check in the Task Manager and see if any of the TI programs are stuck. You could terminate them and then try again. I've had that happen on new installs.

Thanks for the assist MudCrab. I was about to uninstall but questions came to mind:
1. What happens to my previous settings after the uninstall and reinstall? Will they be removed during the uninstall? I have previously exported (I think) my settings. Do I need to import these after the reinstall to get everything back?
2. I tested the Rescue CD I made but TI doesn't see my NAS drives which contains my backup images. I can see it using Disk Director but what good will that do. Does the Rescue CD of TI have support for NAS drives? If not I could copy the backup to an external drive but that's an additional hassle.

Finally, I had a scheduled backup last night and it was successful, so I tried to run TI today and waited patiently hoping that the (not responding message) won't appear. I didn't touch anything after starting the app and after about 2 minutes the welcome screen came on and the whole thing was working all the time. It just took such a long time for the welcome screen to come on that when I try to do anything before it comes on, the (not responding message) comes on and freezes the whole app (or so I thought). So I just disabled the welcome screen.

Thanks again and have a great week.

Yes, you can import the exported settings after reinstalling.

If you can see the NAS using DD I would think it would be there in TI. Do you need to log into the NAS for access?
