Acronis True Image Echo bootable CD hangs on initial screen

Thread needs solution

Hi there,

The bootable CD keeps hanging on the initial full or safe-version choice screen. The keyboard and mouse don't work at all. Every now and then it works (but I have to be quick as it will definitely hangs if I leave it for more than 1 second!). However it definitely hangs after selecting the destination archive file name.

The machine I am working on is a Hyper-V virtual machine. I have tried few different Acronis versions but without any luck for me.

I appreciate any advise on this.

Thanks,
Peter

Hello Piotr,

Thank you for using Acronis Products

I have sent you ISO image of Acronis bootable disc which will solve the issue. ISO image is based on different loader which has more embedded drivers, it will certainly solve the issue you experience. If not please let us know.

Hello Dmitry,

Thank you for the ISO image. The ISO image worked fine on the initial screen and I was able to start the application. Unfortunately there is still an issue. As soon as I select a target path and filename the application stops responding.

The target backup file is located on a local network NAS device. Acronis gets network adapter set up from DHCP server. I can connect to the NAS device, browse folders and files but as soon as I provide a new name for the backup Acronis stops responding.

Acronis True Image Echo application running from Windows works fine with the NAS device. Also, Acronis Bootable CD started on a physical machine works fine with the NAS device. However starting Acronis bootable CD on a Hyper-V virtual machine seems to have the issue.

Kind Regards,
Piotr

I am using a trial version of the software and have been unable to deploy it in our company's test environment. I am able make an image of the machine. When i try to boot off the cd it hangs on the initial software selections screen. It seems like a similar issue. The systems are Dell Optiplex GX260's which we have quite a few in production.
