Scheduled backups stopped running - ABR 11

Thread needs solution

I have a custom schedule set up that runs a full backup on Saturday and incremental backups Monday-Friday each week. Everything has been working good. For the past two days however, my incremental backup has not attempted to run like the schedule has become corrupt. If I examine the backup plan, the custom schedule is correct.

I have done the following to try and fix.

1) Reboot
2) Edit and re-save the backup plan(I have not removed and created a new backup plan)

Also, if I right-click on the backup plan and hover over run, the run full backup and the run incremental backup options are no longer there.

This is Windows Server 2003 Enterprise w/sp2

thanks

 Hello Steve,

Thank you for posting. I will definitely help you to resolve your issue.

For the configured backup plan you have no backup tasks or some of the tasks are missing for manual start. This means, that the script files with the backup settings have been deleted from the folder C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Acronis\BackupAndRecovery\MMS\TaskStorage. At the moment we are investigating the compatibility issues with Kaspersky Internet Security Software Family.  On the systems where Kaspersky Internet Security is installed, the behavior described by you appears to happen. Most likely the issue is caused by the fact that Kaspersky Internet Security deletes the script files as suspicious.

In order to resolve the issue, first cleanup the existing tasks as follow to prevent possible errors about non-existent scripts:

  • Delete all the existing backup/validation tasks on the machine.
  • Follow the instructions from this KB article and issue the task zap command to clean up the scheduler from the orphaned tasks.

Then add Acronis Backup and Recovery 11 to the exceptions in your Kaspersky Internet Security Software:

  • Add the Managed Machine Service to trusted applications as described in this KB article.
  • Add the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Acronis\BackupAndRecovery\MMS\TaskStorage folder to exclusions as described in this article.

After that you can recreate the backup/validation tasks. All the steps above are to be performed on the machine where the Acronis Backup and Recovery 11 Agent for Windows in installed.

If you need additional help, please let me know.

Thank you.

When I re-create the backup task can I point it to the same catalog to use or do I need to remove existing catalog info also?

You can reuse existing catalog. BTW, before removing the backup plans you may want to export them and import them back after configuring your anti-virus (if this is exactly the case). In this case it will automatically reuse your previous settings so you will not be forced to input them again.
