Unexpected shut down
Hi,
I've just upgraded from True Image Home 2012 and am unable to do a system back up with it. I created the bootable media as I've always done but when I try to back up my Dell laptop's C: drive, the machine powers down at about 30% through the process.
The bootable CD works perfectly with other machines, just not with the laptop.
The 2012 bootable CD does not cause this behaviour.
Anything I can try?
Mark

How much RAM does it have? Where is archive located? Does it shutdown when performing file backup? Or backup from Windows?
Overheating would have shutdown it with 2012 media as well, however 2013 may transmit data to backup location faster and CPU is loaded more, e.g. if it has new drivers for USB 3.0 of network card.

Thanks for the replies.
The laptop has 4GB RAM. The archive is located on an external USB hard drive, which I have used for years. I did wonder about overheating but the machine is not noticably hotter nor is the fan making more noise etc.

Mark,
It is hard to say then. A general failure of the Linux-based application or OS could cause the computer to shutdown as if you'd close the environment manually.
I'd suggest you file a case with Acronis and they will examine your system report.
