Outlook 2010 Profile Backup Fails ATI2012 build7133

Thread needs solution

I am still getting the Outlook backup failure due to the Microsoft Office: profiles/outlook/ and long string of numbers & letters. I have read the forums and ATI 2012 isn't mentioned with this problem that I could find. Numerous posts indicate the latest build for ATI 2011 will fix it, so one would assume that it shouldn't be a problem in ATI2012.

Most frustrating as ATI2012 backup stops working after this failure and my other backups don't run.

Help Appreciated!!

Hi Steve,
Sounds like you been at this for a while and aren't having any luck. This behavior has not been 100% reproducible. Seems like it happens to some, but not others.

Some users have been successful by deleting all unused profiles in Outlook then creating the back up task from scratch again. If your other tasks aren't running after a failure, this is probably because the archives database file is not getting updated properly.

Other settings such as mail rules, custom categories and/or mail archive settings can sometimes cause a task to fail. Have you specified the account credentials for the task to use? Did you get any additional information from the log files or is there a point where the backups always fail consistently?

Hi
Are you using the email back up function?, i had the same problem and to get round it i just back up the outlook mail profile folder using the file/folder back up option, i then just name the back up "Emails", i know its not right but it work for me :-)

Pete

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I will delete the backups and rebuild from scratch. I will do the outlook one first and see what happens. If no luck then I'll try Pete's approach. I do have a pile of mail rules, categories and folders etc. so maybe I have complicated matters.

I let you know after I get it done (it may be a few days - life does get in the way at times)

Many thanks for your replies!

Steve
