1) some while back i had a similar issue that i was able to resolve by doing both:
- update the motherboard's BIOS
- update the firmware of the optical drive (CD / DVD)
for further details see: http://forum.acronis.com/forum/16521

2) also make sure to use the very latest acronis update available from your online account downloads:
- windows installer
- bootable rescue media ISO download
when posting problem symptoms always state the version number of your software.

3) also check if your system is running stable in regular scenarios. i.e. can you rule out that any hardware issues (e.g. bad memory) or bios / firmware issues exist?

I just changed the BIOS to "default options" and it's working, now.
About 4 weeks ago i inserted another HDD SATA2, and i think something changed in BIOS.
Anyway, thank you.

I spent an hour changing BIOS options on my Asus motherboard and trying to enter True Image 2013 with F11 at power-up, and narrowed this problem down to QUICK BOOT being allowed in BIOS. Toggling this option affected the success of True Image entry every time.

I'm not saying this might be the exact problem for everyone's motherboard, but it might be related to how quickly the BIOS boots, and what enumerations it may skip when doing a fast boot.

JohnnySix,

Thank you for posting your solution to this problem. It will definitely help those with your specific issue.

Is this issue present on your system when booting to the Rescue Media too?

Does toggling this option affect how the Rescue Media boots?

Since F11 (Startup Recovery Manager), and the Rescue Media, load the same Linux based environment, the same symptons could be present using F11 or the Rescue Media.

Sorry, I haven't tried this solution with a USB Rescue stick. My rescue stick didn't work for me either at the time, but once I got the F11-at-power-up working, I achieved what I wanted to and didn't re-visit the USB stick. I need to straighten that out at some point though!

CORRECTION: I have a Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3-B3 motherboard, not an Asus as I said above. I don't go inside my PC anywhere near as much as I used to.
