TIH 2011 not compatible with iRST partition?

Thread needs solution

I have a new Dell XPS15 with 512GB SSD un which I created a 8GB partition for intel RST. However after I did so the recovery never succeeds. It always fails with something like this as the log says:
?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
log build="6942" product="Acronis True Image Home" version="14.0">
event code="2" id="1" level="2" message="Operation Win7_64 (C) started." module="100" time="1348133115" />
event code="503" id="2" level="2" message="Analyzing partition '0-0'..." module="1" time="1348133115" />
event code="503" id="3" level="2" message="Analyzing partition 'C:'..." module="1" time="1348133115" />
event code="503" id="4" level="2" message="Analyzing partition 'D:'..." module="1" time="1348133115" />
event code="503" id="5" level="2" message="Analyzing partition 'E:'..." module="1" time="1348133115" />
event code="503" id="6" level="2" message="Analyzing partition '1-4'..." module="1" time="1348133115" />
event code="11" id="9" level="2" message="Priority changed to Low." module="100" time="1348133116" />
event code="1" id="10" level="4" line_tag="0x5FAC360A470D39FA" message="Failed to prepare operations. Error code: 9 'File system error is found' with extended code: 458,776 'MFT bitmap corrupted'" module="10" time="1348133118">
event code="24" id="11" level="4" line_tag="0x89D94B01B483DCA2" message="MFT bitmap corrupted" module="7" time="1348133118" />
event code="5" id="12" level="4" message="Operation has completed with errors." module="316" time="1348133118" />

Partition 1-4 lokks like the RST partition.

Before I created this paritiion there was no problem.

Now I can still recover using the rescue media (boot from CD), but this is inconvenient.

This is correct. We have seen issues with ATI when users are using the caching leveraged by RST.

At any rate, it is best to do the recovery with the rescue media. Any image recovery or clone should be done with the recovery CD.

I don't know how the data consistency is handled: ATI makes an image of the cache, then later you restore that image but the content that was cached is obsolete. What happens? Based on my lack of understanding, I typically recommend that users do a backup from time to time with the caching turned off, and/or include the content in the backup.

Thd image is of partition 1, which is the system partition, only. It has nothing to do with the RST cache partition, except they are on the same disk. It seems before recovering ATIH checks every partition of the disk, even those not covered by the image. But the rescue media doesn't do so.
I think it may not needed to check that extensively, or at least can give user a choice to proceed anyway.

And even if cahe is off, as long as iRST is installed (but disabled), it doesn't work.

I am having an exchange with Acronis on whether iRST is supported by Acronis, and what support means. Acronis is currently looking into this. That might result in a knowledge base article, ...

Is it possible to let me know when there is update on this issue? You can reply to this post. Thanks.

Will do. The initial answer is that it is not supported. I am asking about the behavior your are seeing as you did not try to back up the RST partition, but you fail to recover the other partitions from Windows.
