vmProtect 7 installation error on ESXi 5.1 (trial version)

hello,

I want to P2V my Small Business Server 2011. And i want to try this first with the trial version of ESXi 5.1 before i get the Essentials Pack.
But i can't install the vmProtect 7 version.

ESXi has a fix IP and i can handle it with vSphere client without any problems.

Good evening,

I have exact the same issue.

My Products are:
1 x ESXi vCenter 5.1 799731 Essentials (licensed)
2 x VMProtect7 Update 2 (licensed)

I get the same errors as posted above..

Maybe an issue with the Essentials Version?
This config was running perfectly under ESXi 5.0.

I'm not sure if VMProtect is supported on VS5.1 but have you tried installing it manually, but extracting the files and then installing via the ovf files

Take a look at the VMProtect 8 Beta.RC

Thank you for your suggestions..

The way to extract the files and installing over vSphere Client was also not successful (i tried this before..).
The VMprotect 8 Beta works fine so far, but i can't use my bougth licenses for vmprotect7..

So i think i have two options:

1. Use VMware 5.1.0 and use the vmprotect8 beta version.
2. Downgrade back to VMware 5.0.1 and use vmprotect7 with the lincenses i have.

VMPROTECT 8 is in RC now, I'm sure one of the Acronis team can give you a release date for vmp8.

Currently I'm using both VMP7 and 8 on VSphere 5.0 and havent had any problems with V8 at the moment so personally I would use the beta/RC as it would save on the downgrade on VSphere but you should probably wait to see what the release date is for vmp8 is so you can measure up the risk.
