Does VMware 9.0 Converter support Acronis 2012 .tib files?

Thread needs solution

I've been using the VMware 8.0 Vcenter Converter Standalone, but it wouldn't recognize .tib files from Acronis 2012. I've now updated to VMware 9.0, recently released, with the expectation that it would now support Acronis 2012, but it doesn't recognize the tibs either. Is VMware just behind on this, or could I be doing something simple/stupid wrong?

RB-101,
In my experience Vcenter 8 and 9 Converter does not recognize .tib files. They do however work with .vhd images. You can use the conversion utility included with Acronis to convert .vhd to .tib or vice-versa. Note: the conversion tool appears in the installed version of Acronis 2012 & 2013. The boot media does not support conversion. Hope this info is helpful.

I converted my .tib to .vhd without problems. But, then I found that the Vcenter Converter doesn't recognize .vhd files. Unlike .tib files, which are referenced in the pull-down menu, .vhd isn't mentioned at all.

What to do?

Upon review of the VMWare KB, I see there are certain version limitations on both sides that preclude some .tib files from being correctly interpreted and converted by certain versions of the converter.

VHD support is limited to Microsoft Virtual PC 2004 and Microsoft Virtual PC 2007, the latter being what I used for my server 2003 images. I believe you will have to get clarification from VMWare about compatibility between it's conversion utility and what version of .tib's each can read.
