Startup Recovery Manager and Secure Zone in True Image Home 2009

Thread needs solution

When I start Windows I am informed on the screen that I can press F11 to start (german: ausführen) the Recovery manager. But by pressing F11 it says The bootmenu cannot be startet.
Then I can enter to start windows. But what sense has the recovery manager? And the secure zone? As far as I know it should make it possible to repair or start the system without the help of the CD. I hope to know that before I need it! So please tell me! What is wrong here? What do I have to understand? With kind regards, MD

De-activate (remove) and re-activate (install) the Startup Recovery Manager from within 2009. This should correct the F11 problem.
Both the Secure Zone (if located on your primary hard drive) and the Startup Recovery Manager will be of no help to you if the computer hard drive dies and has to be replaced. You should be sure to have a bootable CD/DVD, and be sure you can boot to it. Also have a full disk backup of your system on an addtional hard disk (internally or externally connected) or on CD/DVD's to be able to recover/restore your system in the event of a hard drive crash.

A did what You wrote and it functions very well, a window of Acronis came and offered two possibilities. Thank You for Your immediate response.
My last hard disk problem I solved with acronis by creating a backup of the whole problematic hard disk (C:). I had to format and install WinXP by my WinXP CD and then I used Acronis to use the backup. That way I even did not loose the last weeks until the former full backup.
It is quite some time ago, but I believe that I used my start disk or I installed Acronis onto the new WinXP before I recreated the backup.
Some one said that I must use the BartPE file on the original Acronis CD to do such a thing, because of the use of windows (Linux...).
