The ACronis dont delete older versions of backups
Hello. I use ATI Home 2011. I try all the options and when the disk is full, the Acronis dont delete older backups to make space to continue making bacups. What can I don? Thanks

I set Incremental copy and Automatic clean (not more than 2 recent strings). Nothing more.
But it make 2 strings and more and when the disk is full, dont delete old strings, and stops to make new.
Any help? Thanks.

Lucas,
ATI will always first do a new *third* full backup before erasing the fist full chain. So you need enough space for that full backup on top of the 2 chains.

Ok, but I have enough space for the next full backup, so it makes the two strings after a full backup, and dont delete anyone, it continues doing another full backup and 2 incrementals (programed) and when the disk is full dont delete any of the old backups. (Sorry for my english). I dont know if you understand?

Hi all together,
I have the same problem with ATI 2011 and the automatic deletion of older backups (function: automatic consolidation - number of backups).
When I enter a number of backups (e.g. 30 backups) and store this backup task again, the number 30 disappears.
Any ideas ?
Kind regards,
Klaus

...sorry - I meant ATI-Home 2010 instead of 2011...
Kind regards,

I'm helping someone with ATI Home 2012 who is having the same problem. The backup drive keeps filling up because older versions are not being erased as expected. This is *EXTREMELY* frustrating and time consuming (and unpredictable!). I have already spent a bit of time trying to make the best educated guess about how many chains I have room to keep vs. how much room I have - and it still seems to fill up, eventually, after several attempts to get the settings right. Putting the system into a state where no more automated backups occur (because disk is full) is dangerous. (At least the feature to email me of this failure is working!)

If you are backing up to a local USB disk, the clean up should work. If it doesn't, create a new task in a different folder.
If you are backing up to the Acronis Secure Zone, other issues might kick in.
If you are backing up to a NAS, access rights might prevent ATI to delete files.

I'm having a similar problem. I only create full "mirror" copies on 3 different media (2nd internal HD, NAS and USB drive) I create proprietary names for the backup plan. I always find old .tib files outside the scope of the backup plan! The individual backups are listed in the plan. When deleting those files from within ATIH then the internal database is getting messed up! I will start a new thread about my problem! ;-)
