What is the windows 8 support?

Thread needs solution

So it says we need to upgrade for windows 8 support? so what features are made to work on 2013 that won't work any more on 2012 if I don't update?

Mounting - doesn't work
Exploring, doesn't work properly
No recognition of the new Windows multi disk system.
Possible problems with the newer W8 boot management
Disk filter is not updated to Windows 8 requirements.
T&D can be flaky

Didn't try NSB.

OK so really a necessary paid update for it to continue to work...

thanks for the full list it is good to know..

So is this the only update really?

The site lists:
- windows 8 support
- Cloud storage (but this requires buying TI online and was there before)
- Perfect Sync (does this require buying online too?)
- Moblie File Access (does this require buying online too?)

2013 improved compatibility with various hardware, and fixed many issues that were repored in 2012.

Windows 8 support solves those issues in my list in post #1 whereas 2012 doesn't .

Android and iOS works for non cloud based backups as well as cloud based ones.

tuttle - "2013 improved compatibility with various hardware, and fixed many issues that were repored in 2012."

So we are paying 60% extra for many bugfixes?

Colin - Wait so how does the android support work for non cloud? if you are on the same network? So I am at home next to my computer I can bring a file up on my phone?

Honestly the only use to me of the android feature is you are out and about and need access to a file on your backup, but wouldn't that require cloud backup?

"The software will be supported on Windows 8 through an upcoming update or a new release."

Yeah so by buying 2013 we get windows 8 support?

"The software will be supported on Windows 8 through an upcoming update or a new release.
Exact date of this update is not known at this time."

I think there will be Windows 8 support in TI 2012, but you have to wait at least until the official release of Windows 8. If you want the support NOW you have to buy the upgrade.
