How Do I Get The Free Upgrade From The Upgrade Policy?
Hi I purchased True Image with the promotion of free update to TI2013. How do I get the promo claimed?

I'm after this too. It would be good if Acronis were pro-active in dealing with this.

I just noticed that ATIH 2013 has been released less than 24 hours. I guess they have not ticked all of the boxes yet. I sent an email to support on this question. I have a case number now and I'll post the results of that query in here when they get back to me.

According to an Acronis support presales/licensing chat I had today, the 2013 free upgrade serial numbers are being generated, and will show up in your Acronis account when they are completed. No specific timeframe was made available to the support representitve I was chatting with. You should get an email from Acronis when these are issued to you. Also I posed the question about purchase timeframes and the free upgrade policy. I was informed that any purchase of a full version of 2012 made from the official Acronis website within 30 days prior to the release of 2013 would be eligible for the free upgrade.
I do not work for Acronis, nor speak for them. This is only information I received during a chat session today with Acronis support. This is how the free upgrades have worked in the past, and would seem to be accurate.

Thanks for the feedback follow-up. I just tried to 'contact' support, but it is almost impossible. After 10min waiting I gave up on the chat and I was unable to use the email option (click resulted in nothing). The free upgrade could be handled sooooo much better. Acronis lost quite a bit of goodwill today.

Things have happened exactly as James F suggested earlier, I received an email about 4 hours back with activation keys in it. I checked my Acronis account and those keys are in there registered for ATIH 2013. My thanks to Acronis for such prompt action and James for his good advice.

Nice to get free upgrade license but where can I download the software and what is the upgrade installation guide?

Bart,
Register your serial numbers under your Acronis account, you will then be able to download 2013.
In a nut shell, if you previously had ATIH 2010 or earlier, you will need to uninstall it before installing 2013, you can export and then import your tasks back in.
For 2011,2012, you will be able to run the 2013 installer over the top of the version you have installed.
For all versions of True Image, if a Plus Pack was installed, this will need to be uninstalled before trying to install 2013.
For all upgrades you might find the tasks will be correctly imported but the schedule will need to be edited and saved again.

Hi, I have several of your products registered. I have just tried twice to download the 2013 trial version - the download went fine both times. Also, both times you said an email had been sent to me containing the trial key. I have checked several times in both cases and no email has been received from you for either attempt ( just checked again for probably the 10th time ).
My reason for trying out the trial, is to see if it will work ok under windows-8 and using a 3 GB GPT hard drive. Your previous versions have failed for this combination.

Check your email spam folder. If you still can't find it then log in (or create) to your Acronis account using the email address that you nominated when registering for the trial keys. Once in there you can find the keys that were allocated to you. My account is still showing a trial key more than 12 months old.

I bought True Image Home 2012 on 26th August 2012 from a link I Goggled and so had absolutely no idea that a new version was imminent (it came out the next day I believe) as no mention of 2013 was made during the order process. Had I known 2013 was coming out the next day then I would have held off ordering. I've contacted Acronis Support but I'm still a little annoyed that I was not told of the newer version when I ordered. I'm hoping that Acronis will allow me to upgrade to the newer build for free or whatever the difference in price is between the old and new version.

Thank you for the prompt reply, Anton. I feel a little embarrassed as I found out how to register for the free upgrade only minutes after posting here.
However, I do think that I should have been given the information on how to get the upgrade to ATIH 2013 at the time I placed the order or when I registered ATIH 2012 under My Account. If I hadn't seen mention of 2013 in an email I received from Acronis this morning then I wouldn't have been aware that an upgrade even existed. I'm using ATIH 2012 and it is 2012 after all.

How long does it take? 2013 was released almost 2 weeks now. I was offered an upgrade to 2013 in lieu of correcting problems I was experiencing in 2012. I have received no email with the upgrade license, and have received no replies to my emails requesting the upgrade. I've waited for the chat several times for over 20 minutes then gave up.

Hello Acronis,
I succesfully upgraded to TIH2013 and see that certain problems have been solved. The product is quite sollid now and feels much better then 3-4 years ago. For me personally I like to have a more explainary log file with all backup files and other specialties reported. I also use AISBackup and it has a very complete report/log file system. In profesional tools it is quite common to prefix every record type with an unique message code which you can explain in the help files.

I've got two additions:
1) during backup the progress bar is not following all aspects of the sequential backup steps. It is often 100% will the backup takes much longer. therefore the indication is not very accurate;
2) during backup (and maybe restore) it could be nice to see what is happening and make it possible to follow the process realtime. Same as in AISBackup.

Why is it that Acronis doesn't have a package for those of us that are Home users who have three or three home computers? I have a PC and a laptop. Each year I need to purchase two new licenses, and that gets expensive. My Anti-Virus is a three PC package, as are some of my other applications. Why doesn't Acronis offer such a package?

Acronis has offered a three user Family Pack for quite some time now.
Contact customer service and discuss converting your two licenses to a Family Pack (good for three computers) here: http://www.acronis.com/support/contact-us.html. In step 1 on the left hand side select "customer care" from the pulldown, and on the right hand side, select "other" from the pulldown, then choose chat or email, your choice.

Interesting comments and I see a bit of agro in the upgrade policy & the comments don't actually cover my concern. I purchased a licence for 3 PCs and installed ATIH2012 on each of my laptops on the LAN. I'm happy with Ver ATIH2012, but upgraded one machine to Win 8 which promptly deinstalled my Firewall and ATIH. An email to Acronis said I had to upgrade and 'unfortunately' my ATIH2012 was purchased outside the 'Free upgrade period' and that I would have to purchase an upgrade for $39AUD (or thereabouts). After multiple attempts to have an on-line chat (with Pop-ups enabled) I kept getting chucked out say that pop-ups need to be enabled (Go Figure that!!). All I wanted to ask was 'Do I need to purchase 3 upgrades at the unit price cost - or will the one upgrade do all 3 licenced copies?'. If the former, then it's cheaper to by the 3 PC version for the $99AUD. Anyone throw any light on this policy?

I will check into the 3 license upgrade at the link you have here. Also, regarding browsers, I personally am using Firefox version 16.0.2.
