Security videos are overloading the system

Thread needs solution

My backup hard drive has rapidly filled, and the cause is all of the security video that is saved. My security system saves the files for one week, but that is enough to overload Acronis since newer video is constantly added. Is there any way to tell Acronis not to backup a given subdirectory, in this case where the video is stored for a week?

Bruce, you can exclude files/folders in Acronis, but since you provided no information about the product you are using or the system your are working on, that is all the guidence I can provide.

When doing a disk/partition backup, you can exclude folders in the disk backup options when creating the task in 2012.
See the users guide http://www.acronis.com/download/docs/atih2012/userguide
Page 71 Section 3.11.20 Excluding items from backup, specifically on page 72:
To exclude a folder, click Browse, select the folder you want to exclude on the directory tree, click OK, and then click Add.

Be sure to create a new task pointing to a new empty folder, as editing a task (or its options) can lead to unpredictable results.
