[RESOLVED] Acronis True Image 2013 installation will not start on a Windows 7 32-bit MS Virtual Machine

Thread needs solution

The ATIH2013_5551_en-US.exe install program crashes instantly every time I attempt to open it inside a Microsoft Virtual Machine running Windows 7 Pro 32-bit. I have never installed 2013 on any of my computers yet. I have been running every version of Acronis since 2009, and every version seems to cause some trouble with my computer, especially on new releases, so I wanted to run it from a virtual machine instead.

Any suggestions? I posted the crash info below.

Thanks : )

Matt

Such a crash is hard to diagnose by another user. Things to consider are potential conflicts with other low level drivers (security software, for example).
A standard troubleshooting approach is to uninstall, use the cleanup utility found here http://kb.acronis.com/content/34876, create a clean boot environment with msconfig, reboot and reinstall.

Wild goose chase. The installation packaged was damaged and incomplete. Re-downloading solved everything.
