How can I uninstall True Image 2011 from Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit?

Thread needs solution

From control panel it says the install is corrupt. Can't update the product because it says it was installed improperly. Can't download a removal tool from here because it says access denied. I went to send an email to Acronis and it says the product is no longer supported and it expires in November of 2012... I just registered the product today (Legit box version) and had it for about a year...

I would like to reinstall this version to clone intel SSD to a bigger, new Samsung SSD and when I try to make a bootable cd it shows the Media Builder as empty....that's why I figure a uninstall reinstall would fix. This is driving me nuts...Thanks for any help..

This is the current link to the cleanup tool for 2011-2013. http://kb.acronis.com/content/34876
Here is a direct link to the zip file containg the .exe : https://kb.acronis.com/system/files/content/2012/08/34876/atih_cleanup_…

Since you have registered your serial number, be sure to download the current build of 2011 from your account, and use that to to install your product. Also a bootable ISO can be downloaded from your account as well. The ISO can be used to create a bootable CD/DVD for backup, restore, and recovery.

Hi:

I am trying to uninstall True Image Home 2011 which I had purchased directly from Acronis. I first used the Windows uninstall, but that did not work completely. I then read the notes on 34876, using the cleanup utility. I actually reinstalled the program using the version from my CD. I would still like to uninstall.

Questions:

1. What do I do to get to the "Modify, Repair or Remove " screen shown in 34876 for True Image Home 2011?

2. In section 6 in the KB 34876, it tells you to check the regedit to make sure there are no specific strings found in the two locations. The problem is that the instructions do not tell you what to do if you FIND these strings!! What do you do?

Thanks,

Joe

Hi Joe,
If you run the same installer for the version of ATIH you are trying to remove, it will show you "Modify, Repair or Remove". Same should be available from Program and Features (except it might say "change" instead). If you have already run the Clean up utility one or more times, it could alter the availability of modify or repair, but removal is still possible.

Regarding the registry entries. There are two keys that have to be checked. All you need to do is click on each one, one at a time. You don't have to expand them.

When you click a key in the left pane, the right pane with populate will strings, DWORD, Binary WORD, QWORD, etc values. Pay particular attention to the strings Upper and Lower Filters. If you see one or more of these entries with snapman*, fltsrv, tdrpman*, vidsflt* or timounter you can right-click on the Upper/Lower Filter entry and delete it safely. Do not delete Upper/Lower Filter strings that have other values such as IaStor (example) present. Now close regedit and restart your PC.
